The Lockheed T-33 Silver Star, also known as the T-Bird, was built under license in 1954 by Canadair Aircraft of Canada. This aircraft is a two seat version of America's first operational jet fighter, the Lockheed P-80 Shooting Star. The T-Bird served with distinction for many years with the U.S. Air Force as a fighter trainer, the last one being retired in 1994, and many are still in service with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
