After nine years of diligent effort and perserverance, Phase 1 of the Acton Park officially opened on October 6, 2005.
The Friends of Acton Park take over from the original Park Planning Advisory Committee and are hard at work augmenting the amenities of the Park by raising funds for additional tables, benches, barbecues and flag poles. The Park is maintained and cared for by the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks & Recreation.
A Pavillion will be added to the Park thanks to Supervisor Michael Antonovich; it should be completed in
the Spring of 2006. Phase 2 will add a picnic area, an additional ball field and hydroseeding; Phase 3 will
be natural open space for flood control.
