Minutes of May 3, 2004 approved as corrected.

· Reported a balance of $ 1276.32

CORRESPONDENCE
Dick Morris announced receipt of :
· Notice of Public Hearing June 23-Zoning Code amendment to exempt service dogs from 3-dog limit in Residential and Agricultural Zones.
· Notice regarding permit request for kennel housing 12 canines at 9909 Escondido Cyn Rd. (Agua Dulce)
· Invitation to participate in Patriots Day Parade Sept. 11, in Quartz Hill.
PRESENTATIONS
· Michael Hughes, representing the Acton-Agua Dulce Unified School District 7/11 Committee, outlined the purpose and function of the committee. The committee is in the process of determining the status of Acton Elementary School, and, if surplus, recommend appropriate uses for the property. The District Offices will remain, and some facilities may be utilized to supplement Vasquez High School and High Desert School.

· Announced proposal of an ordinance to allow Los Angeles County to seize vehicles involved in Illegal Dumping and Water Theft.

· Still could use some help on 4th of July.
Bylaws Chair Bill Daniels -No report
Trails, Open Space & Recreation Chair Ray Billet

Attended meeting in Palmdale on May 22. Indicated United States Forest Service
people are not being very receptive to concerns. Will work on draft letter,
have until August to respond. The Chair inquired as to trail & trailhead
progress. Apparently the ball has been dropped they can't seem to find all the
records.

Utilities Chair Ray Garwacki Jr. -No report
Community Standards Chair Michael Hughes
· Asked about progress on removal of illegal signs. Madge Rogaczewski indicated some success County enforcement is continuing to work on it.

· Trailer has been removed from corner of Smith / Crown Valley Rd.
· Trash pickup May 22 was successful. She has some coupons from Waste Management good through June.

· Little Night Music was a success.

· Book sale at Acton Community Center June 12 & 13.
· Working on setting up meeting in June. Would like to send thank you letter on Acton Town Council letterhead to Fire Dept for their help in conducting training classes.
Election Committee : The Chair appointed Ray Billet to chair the election committee. The following 4 seats are up for election this year : David Weary, Dick Morris, Madge Rogaczewski, and David Eisner.
