MINUTES

December 1, 2003 Regular Meeting

Called to Order 7:40 p.m. by President David Weary

Present : David Weary, Dick Morris, Ray Garwacki Jr., Michael Hughes, David Eisner.

Minutes of November 17 approved as Corrected.

Treasurer's report: Madge Rogaczewski

· The Chair reported a balance of $ 1523.20

ANNOUNCEMENTS / CORRESPONDENCE

PRESENTATIONS

· A group of residents from the Peaceful Valley area reiterated numerous problems with the residential drug rehab facility on Eagle Butte Rd. ( ref. Jan. 7, 2002 regular meeting ). Norm Hickling indicated he will do some follow-up with involved Los Angeles County agencies.

Dick Morris Moved to send letter to Supervisor Antonovich expressing Council concerns regarding this continuing situation.- Motion Carried (unanimous)

· Michael Hughes asked that Norm Hickling provide an update on the status of Dave Jennings Sheriffs Community Liaison Officer at the next planning meeting.

· The Chair announced Committee Chair appointments as shown on published agenda (and on these minutes).

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

Planning & Coordinating Chair Dick Morris

· C.U.P. 03-259. 22 homes on 22.66 acres. Sierra Hwy between Desert Rd. and McEnnery Cyn.. 80,000 c.y. of fill will be imported. Engineer Larry Tuma explained that the proposal is to move dirt from adjacent approved 19 lot tract to the tentative 22 lot tract (which is in redesign process to comply with Acton Community Standards Ordinance).

Michael Hughes Moved to approve- Motion Carried (unanimous)-Dick Morris will draft.

· C.U.P. 03-010 59,222 square foot outdoor sports field for indoor and outdoor archery. 33418 Sunrise View St. & Old Sierra Hwy. Application only-no hearing date set.

· Robert Marshall has purchased approx. 8ac south side of Sierra Hwy., east & west of Santiago Rd. Looking for Ideas for commercial development. Would require General Plan amendment and zone change.

· Michael Hughes raised the hauled water issue and suggested the Council take a position. Norm Hickling indicated that Los Angeles County is still working on it. Dick Morris will send request for update information to Supervisor Antonovich.
