David Weary, Ray Garwacki Jr., Bill Daniels absent, all other officers and members present.
Minutes of April 1, 2002 meeting approved as read.
Treasurer Leona Sexton – Reported a balance of $ 452.41
ANNOUNCEMENTS / CORRESPONDENCE
PRESENTATIONS

The Chair indicated recent burglaries and vandalism have raised community concerns. Attempts are being made to establish a Sheriffs Dept Substation and volunteer patrols in the area. Volunteers on Patrol applications are available here, at the Acton Chamber, and several local businesses. From the gallery, Tom Haile voiced problems in the National Forest, and suggested the Council contact the United States Forest Service to initiate more patrols. The Chair indicated Supervisor Antonovich has been contacted by telephone. Michael Hughes Moved to send a letter requesting a local Sheriff Substation-Motion Carried (unanimous).· Ray Billett suggested we have Sheriffs Dept personnel at an Acton Town Council meeting. Dick Morris will set it up for the May 20 Planning Meeting.

Working on possibility of open-space funding. Setting up meetings with Dept. of Public Works.·
Reported on dispute between USFS and individual Ranger regarding signs allowing ORV use of trails.· Venture Pass 2-year trial is up. Will be some controversy and meetings on this.
