STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
Planning & Coordinating Chair Dick Morris
· Resident Cari McLane reported on problems resulting from a representative of L.A. County Dept. of Regional Planning providing misinformation to property owners regarding subdivision requirements. Apparently resulting in issuance of erroneous Certificates of Compliance. There have purportedly been numerous cases over the past several years. Council will contact County authorities to see what, if any, remedial action can be taken.
· Representatives of Adelphia Cable gave a follow-up report on their progress in updating the Acton Cable system, and described future advancements e.g. fibre-optic installation.
· A group of residents from the Peaceful Valley area raised concerns about the recent establishment of a residential drug rehab facility on Eagle Butte Rd. Apparently, current zoning allows such operations with 6 or less residents.
