Called to Order 7:32 p.m. by President David Weary

Ray Garwacki Jr., Leona Sexton, and Georgia Cushman absent. All other officers and members present.

Minutes of May 7, 2001 meeting approved as read.

Treasurer Leona Sexton - -No Report

The Chair announced receipt of the following:

· A letter from Antelope Valley Bank indicating their recent affiliation with Calif. Bank and Trust. More information to follow.

· The Chair appointed Calvin Oglesby to chair the Election Committee for the upcoming 2001 Election.

Planning & Coordinating Chair Dick Morris -Nothing to Report

Finance, Ways and Means Chair Leona Sexton -No Report

Bylaws Chair Bill Daniels -Nothing to Report

Trails, Open Space & Recreation Chair Ray Billet - -Nothing to Report

Publicity Chair Calvin Oglesby --Nothing to Report

Utilities Chair Doug Barnett -Nothing to Report

Community Standards Chair David Weary

· Pam Holt, L.A. County, has indicated that the Acton Community Standards District boundary as depicted is legally binding. She will provide us with a more detailed map/description.

Beautification Chair Georgia Cushman

· Dick Morris announced a press conference by Michael Antonovich concerning the success of Antelope Valley Environmental Pride Week. Will be held Thur. May 10, 11:00 a.m. at L.A. County Fire Station 129 Training Center, 42110 6th Street West in Lancaster .

Drainage and Roads Chair Doug Barnett --Nothing to Report

Rural Town Council Liaison Cal Oglesby --Nothing to Report

Santa Clara River Steering Committee - Liaison Ray Billet

· The Chair indicated he has been in contact with Richard Wu, L.A. County Dept. of Public Works new Watershed Unit. Mr. Wu would like to meet with the Council at some time in the future.

Community Park Committee Liaison Leona Sexton -No Report

Community Club Liaison Dick Morris

· Little Night Music was excellent program and well attended.

Santa Clarita Valley General Plan - Chair Leona Sexton

· L.A. County has indicated no funding available for possible Acton/Agua Dulce General Plan.

· Bill Daniels and Leona Sexton have met with several local organizations to encourage submission of the Survey Questionnaires.

· Workshop to be scheduled in August.

· Ray Billet suggested a letter of thanks be sent to L.A. County Regional Planning Commission for coming out to Santa Clarita for the Albertson's Public Hearing . Will initiate a draft and send to David Weary .

· Elizabeth Billet inquired as to L.A. County enforcement of native vegetation preservation provisions of Acton Community Standards Ordinance. The Chair indicated that L.A. County Fire Dept. has more extensive requirements for brush clearance.

· From the Gallery, a resident indicated concerns about litter caused by newspaper deliveries.

The Chair announced the next regular meeting to be held July 2, 2001, 7:30 p.m. Acton Community Center .

The next planning meeting to be held June 18, 2001, 7:30 p.m. Acton Community Center.
