Called to Order 7:34 P.M. by Vice President Dick Morris
David Weary and Doug Barnett absent - All other officers and members present.
Minutes of June 19, 2000 meeting approved as read.
Treasurer Leona Sexton reported a balance of $ 1282.76.
ANNOUNCEMENTS / CORRESPONDENCE
· Ray Garwacki Jr. announced receipt of a notice indicating the South Coast Information Center move to Anthropology Dept at Cal State Fullerton effective June 29.
· Dick Morris received a newsletter from the City of Santa Clarita showing growth in sphere of influence

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
Planning & Coordinating Chair Dick Morris -Nothing to Report
· L.A. County Dept. of Regional Planning hearing on TM52883 set for July 18.
· Met with L.A. County Dept. of Regional Planning on July 10 to discuss Acton Community Standards District fees. Also Big Dipper Conditional Use Permit.
· From the Gallery, Dr. Michael Mahan, Operations Manager for Big Dipper Water Co., disputed claims that the company was operating outside of the Conditional Use Permit , and that they were selling water to Arrowhead.
· New developer considering purchase of Rio Dulce Ranch project. Plan to use AVEK water.
· L.A. County Dept. of Regional Planning is considering a change in General Plan to allow private windmills to 80 ft without Conditional Use Permit (current maximum is 35ft ).
Finance, Ways and Means Chair Leona Sexton
· Digital camera raffle to be held at Sept. 18 Regular Meeting. Proceeds to date = $740

Trails, Open Space & Recreation Chair Ray Billet
· Some discussion concerning planned railroad bridge work on west Crown Valley Rd., and possibility of allowing for trail easement.
Publicity Chair Chrys Hamper
· Would like to have someone do a newsletter or report on a regular basis.
Utilities Chair Doug Barnett -No Report

SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS
Beautification Chair Chrys Hamper
· L.A. County Waste Tire Amnesty Day July 29, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at road yard 38126 n. Sierra Hwy.
· Local highway segments available for adoption are Soledad Cyn. Rd. east of Crown Valley Rd. for 2 miles, and Sierra Hwy. From Ward Rd. to Shannondale.
· Working with community service people cleaned up Sierra Hwy. From Crown Valley Rd. to near Red Rover Mine Rd. Tomorrow will do Sierra Hwy. Between Red Rover and Shannondale. Next week Crown Valley Rd. east to Station 80.
· Would like to distribute Poppy seeds along roadsides.
Drainage and Roads Chair Bill Daniels
· Crown Valley Rd. street lights to be replaced with "Mission Bell" style.
· Speed limit study to be done on Crown Valley Rd.
· New school zone signs to be placed at Crown Valley Rd. / Antelope Woods Rd.
· Red curbs for Sierra Hwy. At McDonalds.
Rural Town Council Liaison Calvin Oglesby
· Next meeting at Littlerock July 27. Will try to change meeting schedule to bi-monthly.
Santa Clara River Steering Committee Liaison Ray Billet
· Santa Monica Conservancy attempting to acquire entire Santa Clara River.
Community Park Committee Liaison Leona Sexton
· L.A. County Parks & Recreation personnel did not attend meeting on June 22.
Community Club Liaison Dick Morris
· Related success of 4th of July activities.
· Acton Town Council entry won a trophy in parade.
Election Committee Chair Ray Billet
· Applications available August 12. Deadline for filing Sept. 15.
· Candidate list will be presented to council at Sept. 18 Regular Meeting.
· Election to be held Nov. 7.
· Will hold committee meeting next two weeks.
· Questioned whereabouts of keys for P.O.Box 998.
