Called to Order 7:41 P.M. by President David Weary
Doug Barnett arrived late (8:35) - All other officers and members present.
Minutes of June 5, 2000 meeting approved as read.
Treasurer Leona Sexton reported a balance of $ 594.29.
ANNOUNCEMENTS / CORRESPONDENCE
· From the Gallery - Larry Smith has received a request from Frank Zolnierowicz to publish the Council minutes on the Acton web site. No objections provided minutes are approved prior to publication.

The Chair announced receipt of :
· A notice of L.A. County Dept. of Regional Planning Public Hearing July 18 concerning Crescent Bay project (TM52883) .
· A notice of a meeting of Calif. High-Speed Rail Commission June 21 concerning adoption of Maglev project description.
· A notice of proposed planning amendments for Los Angeles region Calif. Regional Water Quality Control Board.
PRESENTATIONS
· Representatives from the 909+ac Coussoulis Project (formerly Pratty). Phase one is planned for the area north of the east terminus of the west segment of Valley Sage Rd., A public golf course is planned to be included in the completed project. Phase One and the golf course will be located directly adjacent to the Acton Community Standards District . Water to be supplied from AVEK from Acton Treatment Plant, and funded by Mello-Roos.
· Dick Morris presented 2 copies of the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for the Transit-Mixed Concrete mining project. Doug Barnett Moved to draft letter to BLM requesting additional time to review new EIS - Motion Carried (Unanimous).
· Dick Morris read a letter proposed to be sent to L.A. County Dept. of Regional Planning expressing appreciation for those involved in the timely resolution of boundary/easement dispute on TM52883. (ref. Mar 6, 2000 Regular Meeting). Bill Daniels Moved to send letter - Motion Carried (unanimous)
· Ray Billet raised the issue of apparent L.A. County proposed changes to the Nova Development Carson Mesa project (TM52882). Changes would require a flood alternate road encroaching into several private parcels and into the Sterling Ridge tract. Area resident Roy Habeger was on hand with maps and other information.
Ray Garwacki Jr. Moved to send letter to L.A. County Dept. of Regional Planning requesting information on such plans, and allowing the Council sufficient time to review prior to any decision. Motion Carried (unanimous)

· Discussion on digital camera raffle and 4th of July booth for fund-raisers.
Doug Barnett Moved to purchase Digital Camera ($ 500±) and sell 300 raffle tickets at $ 5 each. Drawing to be held at Sept. 18 Planning Meeting . Motion Carried (unanimous)

Beautification Chair Chrys Hamper
· In the Antelope Valley (230th E / Ave S) Black Butte has been cleaned up (1800 tons removed).
· Graffiti on Sierra Hwy. overpass was cleaned up by Caltrans.
· Arnold Advertising has agreed to remove their directories from roadsides after 30 days.
Drainage and Roads Chair Bill Daniels
· Announced a Traffic Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday June 22, 6:00 p.m. at Hedgecock Hall.
Rural Town Council Liaison Calvin Oglesby
· Association of Rural Town Councils meeting to be held at The Lakes June 29. Sheriff Baca will be in attendance.
Santa Clara River Steering Committee Liaison Ray Billet -Nothing to Report
Community Park Committee Liaison Leona Sexton
· Committee will meet with L.A. County Parks & Recreation personnel on June 22, immediately following the Traffic Meeting at Hedgecock Hall.
Community Club Liaison Dick Morris
· Related the success of Little Night Music concert held June 10.
· Reminded all of the upcoming 4th of July activities.
Election Committee Chair Ray Billet
· Putting committee together, will have more to report for next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
· Discussion of Council entry in 4th of July Parade. Dick Morris will provide Hay Squeeze for council members to ride on. - Agreed.
NEW BUSINESS
· Doug Barnett expressed concern about the lack of lights on the flags at the Acton Post Office and the Vincent hill / Acton Metrolink Station.
Doug Barnett Moved to send letter to Metrolink asking them to correct the discrepancy. Motion Carried (unanimous)
· The Chair indicated difficulties in arranging meeting with Michael Antonovich's new Deputy Connell McNamara.
· Dick Morris announced receipt of communication from Los Angeles County Library Facilities. They are working with the local library group to try to find an appropriate site for an Acton / Agua Dulce Library facility, possibly combined with Sheriffs Sub-Station.
OPEN FORUM
· Lynne Sickler invited all to the Acton Chamber of Commerce open house June 23, 6:00 p.m.
